June 26, 2007Honda Civic Tour!I went to the HCT in Salt Lake City last night. It was absolutely amazing. Definately one of my favorite concerts that I have been to. I would definately suggest going if you have the oppurtunity. I have posted a few pictures and a couple videos that I took on my camera phone. The quality is pretty crappy though. If I had known that they were just letting everyone walk right through without patting you down i would have brought my digital camera and got some better pics, but oh well. So, now onto the play by play of my night. As soon as we got to the venue, we saw Andy Hurley. We had pulled in the driveway and were going around the back of the venue, where all the busses and trucks were parked, and I saw 3 or 4 people standing underneath a tree next to the road. I thought myself, "Hey that guy looks like Andy." So when we drove by I turned around to get a good look and sure enough it was the amazing Andy Hurley himself! I didn't stop though. I am way to shy to approach people like that, and I figured he probably wouldn't want to be bothered anyway. So then we parked the car and got in line to get into the venue. The line went pretty quick and soon we were in the venue and headed to our seats. On the way there we saw Korean Tom Cruise wandering the hall talking on his phone. Then we got to our seats. They were pretty good. First row and pretty close to the stage. Our seats were a little closer at the last FOB show though. We just sat in our seats and talked and watched the videos play on the screen for about an hour. Then Dirty came onstage and announced Cobra Starship. This was my first time seeing them, and they were awesome! Gabe is a great front man. William Beckett came on stage for "Snakes On A Plane." And Paul Wall did Travis' part. I can't wait until these guys tour again. I wish their set had been longer the 30 minutes. Next up we had Paul Wall. I don't get how he fits onto the bill. I'm really not a huge rap fan aside from Gym Class Heroes, Beastie Boys, and occasionally a little Jay Z. I thought all of Paul's songs sounded exactly the same just with different words. To me it was a waste of 30 minutes. I was so happy when his set was finally over. Just before The Academy Is... came on, Dirty walked right in front of us on his way out to the sound booth. That boy is so crazy! But I love him anyway. The Academy Is... was absolutely amazing. This was also my first time seeing them play and it just made me love them even more! They played my favorite song, "Black Mamba", and Pete came out during one of their songs. I think it was "Slow Down", but I can't remember. I am so excited to see them again this Fall. And this time it will be in a club so I will get to see them nice and close up. +44 was pretty good. I didn't really know any of there songs so it was kinda hard to get into them. Travis is a monster on the drums though. And Mark is quite entertaining. He was wearing one of those Dirty Saves shirts. The last two songs that they played were the ones that I knew, so they went out on a good note for me. Those songs were "Rock Show"(Blink 182) and "When Your Heart Stops Beating". Then of course we had Fall Out Boy. This was my second time seeing them and it was equally amazing as the first. They covered Akon and Michael Jackson. I thought their set was a little on the short side, but I usually think that about every concert that I go to. I just don't want it to end! I loved it when they flipped the front of the stage over to reveal a second drumset and then had Hurley play up front for the rest of the show. He is an amazing drummer and his drum solo was awesome! While Pete and Joe were going to the back of the pit to play on top of the car, Patrick played that Timbaland song that they were on. It shocks me everytime that boy says the f-word. I just can't imagine that word coming out of his mouth, he is so sweet and innocent! At the end of the show, Pete said that they would be back in the fall with Gym Class Heroes. I am way excited for that! And then the show was over and I was a little sad. Not to mention completely exhausted. I had gotten up at 8 that morning so that we could drive back to Ogden from Boise, where we had been for the weekend for my cousin's wedding. So that was a 5 hour drive, and then as soon as we got home I had to jump in the shower and hurry and get ready in an hour so that we could be to the concert on time. Then there was another hour drive to get to the venue. So by the time we were driving home from the concert I had had enough of driving. And then we got stuck in traffic on the freeway because the genius construction people thought it would be fun to cut 4 lanes of traffic down to one. That didn't ruin my night though. I don't think anything could have, it was that amazing!

November 29, 2006Show Cancelled11.28.2006 - sorry salt lake
I should be at that show right now. :( I am so sad that it got cancelled! This was going to be my first time seeing panic live and I was way excited. Obviously, though, the situation was out of their control, so I can't be mad at them. I just hope they didn't try to travel in the icky weather that we had and that they are all safe. Hopefully I will get another oppurtunity to see them soon.
